Schndier Electric is looking for an Engineering Manager to join the big data platform team. As an engineering manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of big data engineers and implement Big data solutions. You will work with engineering, product, and business teams to implement big data platform. You will provide right level of technical support to the data engineering team and eliminate bottlenecks. Duties and responsibilities Manage a team data engineers and lead the team in implementing the scalable, fault-tolerant big data solutions. Assign tasks to data engineers and monitor the data engineering team performance on a regular basis and ensure the best performance. Participate in discussions with customers to understand the requirements and provide support in defining the scoping / sizing the work. Colloborate with internal engineering community and ensure organizational best architectural pratices are followed. Along with architecture team, participate in translating the business requirements in to data requirements. Stay current on latest technology, and arrange necessary tranings to the data engineering team. Conduct interviews and hire best in class data engineers. Maintain high level of expertise in big data technologies and provide technical guidance to development teams. Qualifications Overall 14
year experience in software design, architecture and development. 5
years of experience in managing data engineering team. 3
years of working experience with Big data technologies. Prior experience with implementing data platforms that are scalable, high performing, and lower in operations cost. Proven experience in managing and working with teams based in multiple geograhies. Good knowledge of Agile software development methodology. Hands-on knowledge of big data technologies (Stream processing, Data Lakes, Time series data), containers, API designing and implementing is a must. Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) skills. Primary Location:
