John Deere Landscapes is the nation's largest distributor of nursery, irrigation, outdoor lighting, landscape supplies, fertilizers, turf protection products, grass seed, turf care equipment, and golf course accessories. We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager I for our Ham Lake, MN facility. This position manages the operations and personnel at a branch with sustainable sales less than 2.5 million. The manager ensures that all customers are provided with required products and service that meets or exceeds expectations and drives toward increased market share within an assigned territory. Branch managers must ensure all branch employees comply with John Deere Landscapes shipping policy as it relates to each product in the regulated chemicals and hazardous chemical products categories. Branch managers will be held responsible for improper shipments generating from their location.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Conducts on-site visits to current and prospective customers promoting company products and services in order to increase sales.
Attains sales goals and Shareholder Value Added objectives for the branch through management of strategic sales plan and effective utilization of company assets and staff.
Manages and participates in the sales transactions of the branch, including counter and phone sales as well as arranging product delivery.
Determines customer pricing levels for product purchases and makes point-of-sale pricing determinations in order to secure sales.
Ensures the protection and proper utilization of all branch assets, including inventory, equipment and facility.
Manages the branch accounting functions, including invoicing, cash drawer procedures and balancing, return on assets, banking and petty cash.
Oversees all administrative functions of the branch, including sales transactions, purchase orders, product transfers and defective goods disposition.
Maintains consistent flow of information to area manager concerning the operations of the branch.
#### Experience and Skills:
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. One to three years experience in the green distribution, irrigation, nursery and/or landscape industry.
3. Experience managing a nursery and/or irrigation retail sales branch which includes leadership,issue management, motivation and/or team buidling.
4. Solid inventory management skills along with a basic understanding of accounting fundamentals.
5. Understanding of sales and operations planning process, demand forecasting and re-wholesaling.
6. Must be self-directed and motivated, and act in an entrepreneurial fashion.
7. Strong communication and excellent problem-solving skills.
8. The ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
