Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented individual to work directly with Site Quality Manager as Quality Engineer. This role is part of TE Sensors Solution SCR, Temperature and Pressure Sensor product line and is based from Andover, MN. This is a high-energy position responsible for performing initial investigative analysis of the failed parts sometimes taking leading role in electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing of suspected sensors products. The role will also involve meeting corporate quality goals for temperature sensors, leading field failure campaign, developing and managing a small team in the field during campaign to Industrial and Commercial Transportation applications.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Plan and Execute initial failure analysis of the failed sensors with the support of cross functional team from Andover (MN), France and China
Contribute to drive the root cause analysis with Andover (MN), France and China cross functional teams
Take leadership role on failure discussion with NA and SA customers via 8D approach
Drive the containment actions for reported issues with TE sensors from customers in the NA and SA region
Follow existing protocol and collaboratively develop test protocols for the containment actions based on failure symptom
Understand wide range of diagnostic tests (2D and 3D x-ray, CAN functional test etc.) and specify appropriate tests as necessary
Work with engineering teams to understand sensor function and manufacturing processes and associated documents (DFMEA, PFMEA, etc.)
Coordinate testing with other TESS labs globally (France/China) and related US labs whenever required
Work collaboratively with cross functional teams in the development of new test protocols if required for failure analysis or containment
Provide clear and detailed test reports
Contribute in the Warranty Discussion for NA and SA region for SCR and Temperature sensors
Manage weekly/monthly reports of the analysis done
Organize and facilitate monthly meetings to review department quality metrics and continuous improvement action items.
Work closely with the lab engineers and technicians promoting employee engagement
Keeps abreast of new developments in the field of quality engineering through technical publications, seminars, and conferences
Lead, act and participate in corporate TECH's, Star Level continuous improvement
Be involved with employee health and safety teams as needed
Key Requirements and
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Quality) or other technical discipline
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer
Minimum 1-2 years' management experience in a laboratory environment preferred
Experience in developing and managing team(s)
Familiarity with industrial and automotive test laboratory processes, knowledge of test methods and test specifications
Experienced with oscilloscopes, DMMs, environmental testing equipment (Thermal chamber etc.) and other electronic lab diagnostic equipment
Able to learn basics of automotive CAN network communication protocols
Comfortable completing hands on product manipulation and teardown
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Ability to work well with others of diverse backgrounds
Flexible in time, able to support calls with global manufacturing and engineering locations
Must have excellent project management skills, be capable of multitasking, and have a willingness to shift priorities as business pressures demand

Excellent and proven leadership skills with strong ability to successfully lead and develop a team
